Twinkie - Crime

Twinkie once supported Fugazi.  I heard that story and thought it was weird but really good.  Fugazi opened up submissions from bands for support slots on their UK tour and personally hand picked the winners.  Twinkie won.  I like that.  Twinkie are a noisy band with an idiot pop sensibility.  Main dude Moo has gone on be Dr Coca Cola McDonalds.  The drummer Elvis played in some other bands as well, 'most notably' Lords.  I either first heard Twinkie thanks to John Peel, or the 2minutemen comps put out Jonson Family Records.

Milky Wimpshake - Home Is Where The Hate Is

Milky Wimpshake are one of my absolute favourites.  A band that I didn't get to really hear for the first time until maybe 2002 or 2003 (most likely thanks to my main dude Ray K) and I fell pretty hard pretty quickly.  I think this one came from ebay, possibly after a search for anything Slampt (though this was released through Libellous Vinyl, a label that seems to have released no other records.)  This may well be my favourite Wimpshake single, to the point that there is a recording of a Winston Echo cover of the title track around somewhere.  Never seen them play this one live which is a shame, maybe next time?
