Mount Happiness

We went to the Mountain but the Mountain wasn't there. All that was around were snowcaps, suspended from the sky by thick nylon cords. All we could do was climb to the highest peak and plant a flag, metaphorically speak of course; we had no flag.

Gravity came down and tied itself around our legs and we crawled on our bellies like snakes. Like snakes. I followed the marks on your arms like lines on a map and we found our way somewhere safer, deeper about the foot of where the Mountain should have been. The snowcaps still hung up above us precariously. They seemed almost hostile towards us and our presence, wanting, wishing for us to walk away and leave and never to mention what we had seen.
